I Gotta Story To Tell is a digital series built from the ground up by a young generation of producers seeking to redefine digital storytelling by curating diverse meaningful stories that resonate with our global audience, while giving a platform to their issues.
The award-winning 34-episode series -- produced and presented by Ahmed Ghoneim -- provides an eye-catching, light-hearted, and soulful reflection on issues ranging from politics, racism, culture, history, and sports.
The series keeps its finger on the pulse of international news, shedding light on critically underreported or overlooked perspectives essential to generating nuanced understanding and meaningful discussion of political, economic and social issues around the world.

In keeping with TRT World’s editorial vision of making the global local, the I Gotta Story To Tell presents news, social issues, and deeper investigative dives through an engaging storytelling manner that combines journalism, critical thinking, culture, history, and fresh editorial angles. Animation and effects are approached organically, used to accentuate key points and visually reinforce the narrative.
The show aimed to engage with younger overlooked demographics of the news industry, by departing from traditional storytelling styles in favour of digitally-reworked yet human-centric approach.
After pitching the show to, we curated unique holistic stories that matched the diversity TRT World offers its audiences and filled an as of yet unfulfilled niche for our younger audiences.
With a small yet passionate team dedicated to creating something entirely new, we were able to experiment with multiple formats, angles, styles, lighting, pitch, tone, tempo, palettes, and music until we had a clear winning brand. We chose a unique animation style that was both gripping, engaging and brings ease and fun to complex storytelling.

With over 3.5 million views on YouTube and 500,000 views on Instagram, the show was a success with younger demographics with an interest in consuming digital journalism. Fans of the series from around the world regularly comment under videos in appreciation of its style, digestibility and light-hearted approach.
The digital show was also recognized in the 11th Lovie Awards with a Gold Lovie in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category, also winning a ‘People’s Lovie’ audience award in the same category.
