Pokémon GO: Season of GO

Objectives

As pandemic restrictions were lifting, Pokémon fans were eager for a signal to get out and GO back to their favorite Pokémon GO in-person festivals.

We needed to stir excitement with players, to get them looking forward to all the activities that the season entailed, and (most importantly) get everyone ready to get out and GO!

Strategy and Execution

The idea for the campaign was right in front of us the whole time: Between Pokémon GO's worldwide celebration – GO Fest 2022 – and their newest story adventure in Season of GO, we knew our campaign had to be rooted in adventure and momentum. It all came together, perpetually driving fans towards the next event and release.

We created a full suite of campaign assets, from a live-action trailer to a social scavenger hunt. The launch campaign encouraged players to "Get Out and GO!" this summer. Custom story trailers kept players engaged throughout key campaign beats while the key art led the robust social rollout. 

Results

Players around the world rallied to join the Pokémon Season of GO - returning to out-of-home, in-person play.
