Objectives

With such a large film library, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to breathe new life into our catalog and expose new audiences to our beloved content. What more inspired way to excite audiences about film than through music.

Strategy and Execution

MGMood is a social series that plays upon the popular hashtag #Mood, and the studio’s name, MGM Studios. The concept revolves around finding that one moment in a story that emits a specific mood or feeling that resonates throughout the entire narrative of the film, and then pairing it with a “inspired by” Spotify playlist that encompasses that emotion. Spanning artist’s from all decades and genres, our MGMood playlists can resonate with audiences of all ages and tastes. Visually we have designed the assets to resemble a CD or Vinyl tracklist.

Results

Since debut, we have created 68 playlists, generated over 4M impressions and 130K engagements. Most importantly, we have inspired hundreds of thousands of new fans to listen to over 5000 minutes of music specifically inspired by an MGM Studios film.
