AARP's 'The Perfect Scam' Podcast

Finalist in Branded Podcast

AARP's goal with this podcast was to create an entertaining vehicle to raise awareness and provide information on how the 50+ community can best protect themselves and their families from scams and fraud.

AARP's demographic is especially susceptible to scams so fighting fraud is one of AARP's top priorities. AARP Studios partnered with AARP's Fraud Watch Network to produce this podcast.

The podcast includes real, compelling storytelling but also covers valuable information for our audience so that they are not conned or scammed.

AARP's new weekly podcast The Perfect Scam profiles America's biggest scam stories. Hosted by Will Johnson, former Discovery Channel podcast host/producer, and leading fraud expert and AARP Fraud Watch Network Ambassador Frank Abagnale, the series introduces listeners to compelling personal stories from scam victims and their families. Interviews with professional con artists and leading experts in the topic allow Will and Frank to pull back the curtain on how scammers operate and share tips with listeners on how best to protect themselves.

Our podcast was featured on the front page of Apple Podcasts and reached more than 700,00 listeners in our first year. We also peaked at number 14 in our section, "News & Politics."
