For the return of Hulu's Shut Eye, we wanted to create a unique social activation that placed viewers in the world of the show with an immersive and interactive experience to drive premiere buzz.
Leading into Season 2 of Hulu's original series Shut Eye, we re-engaged viewers on Facebook with themes of the show that resonated most during Season 1. The Shut Eye interactive 360 Video Quiz guided fans to discover answers about their future through a series of questions around the show's themes of enlightenment, family and the future.
Throughout the quiz, viewers were directed to each question by using the 360 functionality of the video. Timed questions led users to look up, down, and from side to side to pick the answer that best suited their personality. Once the answer was selected, users would then be led to another question based on which direction they chose to look. Questions such as, "How do you perceive yourself?" connected users to four different answers, each one depicting a character from the series based off their specific traits. Show moments were shown alongside relevant questions and responses, teasing the upcoming season.
Once viewers answered all questions, each participant was served with a custom result based on their selections. The results section transitioned smoothly into the series trailer, introducing the Season 2 storyline to interested viewers who stayed for the full experience.
The video quiz not only allowed fans to interact engagingly in 360 degrees, but immersed users in the show and its themes. With a paid boost, the video reached 5.2MM viewers, intriguing existing and new fans of the series.
