“The Spider Within” aimed to distribute the film and KLF’s lesson plan on social platforms, engaging new audiences. The campaign encouraged donations to KLF and highlighted the diverse animation talent from the LENS Program.
Sony Pictures Animation and Imageworks partnered with the Kevin Love Fund (KLF) to digitally release the animated short film, “The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story,” alongside a new mental health focused lesson plan from KLF, “The Hero Within.” The film was produced in the inaugural year of Sony Pictures Leading and Empowering New Storytellers (LENS) program, a training program that provides artists from underrepresented groups with a chance to gain valuable creative experience in animation.
In two months, the campaign reached 332M, 73M views and 8M engagements. The film was integrated into KLF’s lesson plan, with over 10K downloads and global classroom screenings, including Miami schools collaborating with the Heat on mental health.
