Our goal was to disseminate health information on topics that the general public would be interested in, but most particularly the Hispanic community in order to broaden the reach of our organization’s mission in that demographic. At the time of this partnership, Dr Mau had over 1M followers on Instagram and the goal was for posts shared on both accounts through an Instagram collaboration to help our content reach a wider base.
Dr. Mauricio Gonzalez, also known as Dr. Mau, is a Latino physician specializing in internal, emergency and obesity medicine. In this series of 3 short videos, he discusses good and bad fats, your diet and diabetes, and the benefits of considering a plant-based menu.
Our strategy was to have Dr. Mau focus on topics important to both a general and Latino audience speak into the camera, allowing for a more authentic connection and the development of trust. Our creative approach utilized an in-app text trend at the time to help boost our content’s favorability with the Instagram algorithms.
The videos have received over 1.2M combined across Instagram and FB reels, with Dr. Mau’s acceptance of the Instagram collaboration requests pushing important health information out to a wider audience
