We Are Teachers worked with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) to reinvigorate their Sparking School House website, providing free fire prevention resources for teachers and families and also create a brand new guide for fire safety in a city setting.
Goals of this program included:
The We Are Teachers team developed a brand new Sparky School House website to give educators and families easy access to fire prevention resources. Paying close attention to user experience, we made sure to add the capability of sorting by type of resource and grade level. To extend the impact of this program to families and youth in the home setting, the team created a full-color, illustrated "Fire Safety in the City" take-home packet for families. This packet starts the conversation about fire safety at home, specifically in apartments or larger multi-unit buildings where risk of fire can be greater. Through a robust social, email, influencer, and newsletter promotion, we made our target audience aware of these highly useful fire prevention resources to educate youth.
Through our strategic promotions, we served 3.75 million impressions to get fire prevention resources into the hands of teachers and families to educate youth on this important topic. With three teacher creators posting Instagram Reels to their channels, we were able to further expand our audience and reach. By the thousands, we saw downloads of fire prevention printables and article views on fire prevention resources and ideas.
