2016 Night of Heroes Gala: Julie Keys

Objectives

This video is meant to honor our "2016 Hero of the Night" recipient from this year's PenFed Foundation Night of Heroes Gala and to make people aware of the PenFed Foundation's mission to provide financial stability and security to our nation's heroes. We wish to honor the unsung heroes, family members and caregivers of our nation's defenders. Keys summed up her dedication simply; "I just did what I had to do – what we all would do." Julie Keys' resolve is a testament to the selfless work being done to help our nation's defenders deal with the difficulties of returning home.

Strategy and Execution

This video was played at our 2016 Night of Heroes Gala to help raise awareness of and collect donations to aid the PenFed Foundation's goal to help our nation's veterans. It was posted on the Foundation's website, our YouTube channel, and our Facebook page. The Facebook post went live on July 4th and was boosted in order to spread viewership. Internal emails with the video were sent to all PenFed Credit Union employees. The video was also sent to all affiliate partners and several military-related channels.

Results

The Julie Keys video was posted to the PenFed Foundation's YouTube account where it was viewed 821 times. It was also posted on our Facebook page on the Fourth of July resulting in where 165 shares and 914 likes. The video ultimately reached 37,439 people on Facebook. The video was emailed to PenFed Credit Union members on Memorial Day and again on the Fourth of July – receiving over 335,000 opens.
