Viva Latino

Entered in Instagram Presence

Objective

Viva Latino has always been about discovery rooted in culture. Long before Latin music dominated global charts, fans were already sharing it, debating it, and pushing it forward across borders, languages, and communities.

Launched in 2015 as one of the first major Latin music playlists on a streaming platform, Viva Latino became a place where listeners could discover both emerging artists and established names in one space. As Latin music continued to grow, the role of Viva Latino expanded beyond the playlist. Its Instagram evolved into a real-time reflection of Latin culture in the U.S., staying closely connected to the conversations, moments, and shifts shaping the community as they happened.

The objective was to make Instagram feel like a natural place for discovery that reflects how fans already engage with the culture. New voices appear next to global hits, while regional sounds sit alongside breakout records. Formats like Es Viernes and The Map tap into weekly rhythms and regional pride, celebrating fan-favorite artists while introducing those on the rise.

Beyond elevating Latin music, the goal was to highlight the musical movements shaping what Latin music is today and where it is headed next, positioning Viva Latino as a daily touchpoint for fans to engage with the culture they are already part of.

Strategy

Viva Latino’s Instagram was built to reflect the impact of the playlist while expanding its role as a cultural platform. The feed amplifies emerging talent, celebrates established icons, and highlights the artists and moments shaping Latin culture, creating space for authentic conversation within the community.

The page brings music to life beyond the stream through culturally relevant storytelling, editorial perspective, and fan engagement. Content is designed to move at the speed of culture, responding to releases, trends, and moments as they gain traction with fans rather than after they peak.

This approach comes to life through social-first franchise formats fans recognize. Cultural Moments to Watch and Nueva Música spotlight emerging artists and new releases gaining momentum, while Tapped In offers behind-the-scenes access to artists driving the most relevant movements in the culture. These formats make discovery intuitive, whether fans are finding someone new or getting closer to artists already shaping the sound.

Participation is a core part of the strategy. Viva Latino regularly turns cultural moments into interactive experiences through bracket-style challenges in Stories, inviting fans to weigh in on debates they are already having around favorite songs, artists, eras, and moments. Social-first formats like Cafecito and Fan Scrapbook further this engagement by creating direct interaction between fans and artists, showing visible  support while driving conversation around Latin music’s cultural influence. These moments turn passive scrolling into participation and allow fans to see their tastes reflected back in real time.

The feed works because it feels familiar. It’s built from the same elements fans already share with each other, including artist breakthroughs, reactions, regional styles, humor, and references rooted in language and identity. Visually, the content draws from the aesthetics of Latin music culture itself, while captions stay short and direct, leaving room for fans to react rather than over-explaining the moment.

Results

The result is a culturally resonant feed that consistently drives strong engagement from both fans and artists. In 2025, Viva Latino’s Instagram saw outsized engagement driven by impactful content that audiences chose to engage with organically.

The page has grown to over 400K followers, with nearly 30K added in 2025 alone, alongside millions of organic engagements. Interactive formats, culturally timely posts, and artist-driven storytelling helped deepen participation and strengthen the sense of community on the page.

As Latin music continues to expand globally, Viva Latino’s Instagram functions as a daily touchpoint for discovery, visibility, and cultural connection. Its success reflects a role that goes beyond promotion, serving as a space shaped by the fans and artists who continue to move Latin music forward.
