Hulu Original mystery-comedy “Only Murders in the Building” follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) who launch an investigation and podcast when a murder happens in their apartment building.

Over four seasons, "Only Murders" has built up a huge following of loyal fans and continues to keep viewers invested with hilarious moments, deep mysteries, and a star-studded cast of guests.

To promote the fifth season of the series, Hulu looked to continue to reward fans for their commitment to the show and leverage the star power that makes "Only Murders in the Building" such a smash. Hulu used its successful podcast companion series for “Only Murders In The Building,” hosted by Michael Cyril Creighton, to give fans a deeper look at the show.

The Season 5 podcast has run for 10 episodes for a total of nearly 7 hours of runtime. The series features the cast talking about everything and anything, and was designed to encourage fans to engage with actor stories separate from their characters. The podcast positioned itself as a gateway for continuing interest for fans, meaning more of their time was spent tuning in to “Only Murders In The Building” content. 

Accompanying each episode was also a filmed version on Hulu and Disney+ platforms and YouTube, creating further spaces for fans to communicate with each other and allowing a wider audience to appreciate the podcast. Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building" podcast has been a major success throughout Season 5 across a number of platforms. On YouTube, the podcast gained +1.2M views through the season finale. It also sports a 4.9 rating on Spotify.

The podcast ranked as the #7 top new show for the week ending on 9/14 on Apple.

Across all platforms, short-form content (clips) received 19M views, up 8% week on week, with the highest week-on-week growth driven by YT Shorts (views up 37% WoW). TikTok (10M views) and Instagram (6M views) remain the top-performing social platforms.
