After establishing the Indiana Fever Facebook as the most consumed Facebook among all professional sports teams in North America in 2024, our goal was to increase video views + engagements and become the first WNBA to pass 1 million followers on any social platform during our 2025 season.
To build off an incredible 2024, we continued to fine tune our strategy of content diversity and volume. We utilized every tool Meta offers on Facebook – longform video, shortform video, single graphics, galleries, events, and created an environment and space where our fans felt part of the team. We use the platform in real-time to capture the energy of any given moment and deliver fans engaging content.
We produced more than 3,000 pieces of content for Facebook during the 6-month stretch of our 2025 season, nearly 17 posts per day, to ensure fans always had fresh content to look forward to. We also met them in the comments to get real-time feedback on what content they enjoyed most & continue to deliver to them.
Our strategy and execution required a dedicated content team, who aimed to provide fans the best experience possible on the platform & the results were incredible.
No team in professional sports in North America had more social consumption on Facebook than the Fever during the span of the WNBA season – with more than 960 million video views (165M more than the No. 2 team in North America & +52% YoY) and 35.5 million engagements (+77.5% YoY).
We also became the first team in the WNBA team to pass 1 million followers on any platform.
We utilized every tool available to us to make the Fever Facebook page the most powerful page in sports. Nobody produced more quality and engaging content than we did and it helped create an awesome environment for our fans to consume and interact with the brand.
