Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney (Wednesdays at 10p ET) breaks all talk show molds: live/not pre-taped, guests are not on promo tours, includes live calls, and goes wherever John’s curiosity takes him.  Everybody’s Live has guaranteed spontaneity, unexpected moments, and surprise guests – all curated by John Mulaney.  

The live and unexpected DNA of Everybody’s Live is reinforced with this weekly episodic promo campaign that drops on Tuesdays.  This episodic meta-campaign story draws inspiration from films like The Limey to Vanilla Sky.  A social-first campaign that creates a running story around the challenges of bringing together this show each week.  

 

Strategy

Each week’s guest lineup is released as a social static post on Mondays.  The episodic stories drop Tuesday morning.  This cadence will sustain awareness, build loyalty, and promote shareable moments to build engagement and word of mouth.

Critical reviews

The first episode of the series received positive reviews with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 100% rating with 9 reviews from critics. Metacritic gave the series a 77% rating based on six reviews. Ben Travers of IndieWire wrote, "Its sense of humor may call to mind Conan O'Brien's absurdist Late Night work, and the visual style may hearken back to Johnny Carson's era, but John Mulaney isn't trying to make another late-night talk show. He's trying to make his".
