Co-founded by Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman, Boardroom is the premier media brand covering the business of sports and entertainment through premium content, live experiences, strategic partnerships, and access to an elite network of business leaders. It gives fans a way to engage with their favorite athletes, entertainers, and entrepreneurs in truly authentic ways—while offering access they can’t find anywhere else. At a time when the business behind sports, media, and culture is as important to fans as the action on the field, Boardroom serves as a trusted platform for storytelling, insight, and peer-to-peer connection.

In 2025, Boardroom set out to continue to evolve from a media brand into a cultural ecosystem, expanding and refining its offerings in content, experiential strategy, and partnerships while introducing transformative new initiatives that deepened its connection to fans, athletes, executives, and brands alike. Each innovation was meant to reinforce Boardroom’s mission to bridge the worlds of sports, business, and entertainment while creating authentic opportunities for access, connection, and growth.

 

Strategy

Elevated Boardroom’s Event Business into a Sports Media Revenue Driver & Cultural Force

Through strategic partnerships with leading media platforms such as CNBC, Yahoo! Sports, and Major League Baseball (MLB), alongside blue-chip brands including Chase, FanDuel, Nike, IBM, Lexus and State Farm, Boardroom has solidified its reputation as a brand that brings must-attend sports business and cultural events to life. These events function as scalable sports media IRL moments, driving conversation among VIP guests, sustained interest from partners, and curated content for social/D2C audiences. Boardroom leads at tentpole cultural moments including NBA and WNBA All-Star, the US Open, and F1 Weekends, distinguishing themselves in oversaturated weekends with A-list guests, unparalleled access, and thoughtfully curated experiences.

Forged & Expanded Industry-Leading Media & Brand Partnerships

Boardroom forged and expanded strategic media and league partnerships that significantly extended its reach and influence. A partnership with Yahoo Sports launched Network with Rich Kleiman, a multi-platform video series spotlighting in-depth conversations with athletes, executives, and entrepreneurs about their business ventures and passions. A dedicated Boardroom hub on the Yahoo Sports platform now provides direct access to these stories, significantly extending the reach of Boardroom’s editorial voice. In parallel, Boardroom expanded its relationship with MLB, now serving as the league’s cultural agency of record, delivering immersive fan experiences and player-led storytelling across platforms. Boardroom also partnered with Fanatics to launch an Athlete Immersion Program in July 2025 ahead of Fanatics Fest, a professional development program for athletes and their management teams. The July cohort included NBA, NHL, and NFL players. The December cohort featured athletes Natasha Cloud, Midge Purce, Jewell Loyd, Lexie Hull, Naz Hillmon and more.

Extended Boardroom’s Sports Media Ecosystem Through Members Club Launch

Boardroom expanded the boundaries of modern sports media with the launch of Boardroom Members Club, an integrated membership community blending premium content, live programming, curated access, and professional development. Designed for professionals across sports, business, and entertainment, the Members Club offers private events, panel conversations, mentorship, and access to flagship activations including NBA and WNBA All-Star, the US Open, and Art Basel. Supported by a Board of Advisors including David Blitzer and Taylor Rooks, the initiative reflects Boardroom’s commitment to advancing culture through access, connection, and opportunity.

Continued To Grow Scale and Influence of Media Platform

Boardroom’s editorial output – including daily reporting, incisive newsletters, and long- and short-form video – has built an audience of more than 52M monthly unique visitors. Its suite of newsletters now reaches over 242K subscribers with an average total open rate of 56%. Boardroom’s flagship Cover Story franchise, averaging 10M impressions and 5.5M video views per feature, has become an industry designation of “who’s who” in sports, entertainment, and business. Cover stars have included Jalen Brunson, A’ja Wilson, Cade Cunningham, Issa Rae, Aryna Sabalenka, Spike Lee, Quavo, and other VIPs. New video franchises include On Record, in which Boardroom head of content Damien Scott goes in-depth on classic albums with their creators, and NewPrint, a franchise spotlighting emerging entertainment and entrepreneurial talent.
