Hulu has one of the largest and strongest libraries of Adult Animation & Anime content in streaming — so to serve a community of viewers who love animation and are always hungry for more, Hulu launched Animayhem. The new sub-brand promotes its vast library of animated content, from classic fan favorites such as "King of the Hill" and "Family Guy," and "Bob's Burgers" to new Hulu original series, including "Solar Opposites" and the return of "Futurama."
Hulu designed a series of ads to promote Animayhem, which included an uproarious tour through the worlds on display by Hulu's 'dot', a chaotic, mayhem-causing enormous green orb that finds its way to Springfield, Arlen, and all the most recognizable places from Hulu's lineup of adult animated series.
To draw the attention of viewers to the animation sub-brand, Hulu used highly recognizable places and characters from each iconic series, including Homer, Bob, and Peter, as well as newer properties like Hit Monkey and Solar Opposite. As a treat to viewers, Hulu brought together these usually separated characters into the same scenes (e.g., seeing Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin dining at Bob's Burgers). Also featured in each scene is Hulu's big green dot. The Dot's mayhem and destruction are appropriately set to “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus. Placing so many recognizable characters alongside the Hulu branding created a synergy among viewers, connecting Hulu together with all of their favorite animated series.
Hulu has 46 adult animated series, which is a total of 174 seasons and 2,600 episodes. Ten of these form the flagship faces of the Hulu Animayhem sub-brand. Hulu platform users stream over two billion hours of adult animation content per year.
