Morris Brown College needed a hard reset – they lost their accreditation in 2002 due to financial mismanagement and debt. The school took on the monumental task of regaining accreditation, and twenty years later, they finally succeeded. Our task was to create video content that could highlight the reaccreditation, help drive enrollment for 2022, and be used in a press kit to generate national media attention and help the school get back on its feet with donations and support from alumni and beyond.
To tell the story of one of the most iconic HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges & Universities), we knew it had to be authentic and impactful. We juxtaposed nostalgic, archival images with footage we captured on campus at Morris Brown to detail how its distinguished Black alumni paved the way for a better world. Utilizing fast-paced cuts and an inspiring voice over, we told the story of how Morris Brown College has overcome adversity and will continue its story with the next generation of Black leaders.
The success was getting Morris Brown’s Hard Reset attention nationally – and we achieved that by getting the work on to such platforms as southeast affiliates of Fox, ABC, Intercom V103 and WAOK, Spotify, Discovery+, Bounce, Cox Media Radio, and Clear Channel Radio. This helped generate buzz, boost student enrollment, and gain additional support from alumni.
