Community First: Kendra Scott’s Response to Texas Flooding

Entered in Corporate-Community

Objective

In response to the devastating floods that impacted Kerrville and Central Texas, Kendra Scott, a Texas-founded brand, launched an initiative grounded in its long-standing commitment to community support and philanthropy. Guided by founder Kendra’s deep connection to her Texas roots, the objective was to provide immediate relief to affected families, while also creating pathways for sustained aid and community engagement. This effort centered on three key goals: to deliver critical resources through a donation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, to mobilize both customers and employees by transforming Texas Kendra Scott stores into collection hubs for essential supplies such as clothing, diapers, toiletries, and cleaning products, and to ensure ongoing support through the launch of the Everlyne Bracelet, designed to give 100% of proceeds to fund victims and the Kerr County community. By activating its network and aligning resources across Texas, the brand sought to stand with its neighbors in their time of need, demonstrate solidarity with impacted communities, and extend compassion and strength during the rebuilding process.

Strategy

In response to the devastating floods in Kerrville and Central Texas, Kendra Scott implemented a rapid, multi-faceted relief plan that leveraged the brand’s philanthropic foundation, retail network, and community engagement.

The plan began with a direct donation from the Kendra Scott Foundation to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and the launch of the giveback bracelet, the Everlyn bracelet, with 100% of proceeds going to support the most immediate needs of victims, their families, and the Central Texas community.

Select stores across Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio were transformed into donation hubs for essential items, including clothing, diapers, toiletries, and cleaning supplies, which were then distributed to impacted families in Kerr and Williamson Counties. This approach allowed employees and customers alike to contribute tangibly, fostering a sense of shared purpose.

Partnerships with trusted local organizations were also a cornerstone of the strategy. Kendra Scott teams volunteered alongside Mercy Chefs, a nonprofit providing hot, chef-prepared meals to victims, volunteers, and first responders. This on-the-ground engagement underscored the brand’s commitment not only to financial giving, but also to being physically present in solidarity with affected communities. Collaborating with Mercy Chefs and other first responders ensured that immediate needs such as food and basic supplies were met while long-term recovery was underway.

Simultaneously, product-based initiatives were launched to extend the impact beyond immediate donations. The Ari Heart Pendant Necklace in Emerald Cat’s Eye (available online from August 17, 2025, through January 31, 2026) contributed a portion of proceeds to relief efforts, while the Yellow Rose by Kendra Scott Texas Giveback Trucker Hat dedicated all proceeds to the cause during the same period. These products served as visible symbols of solidarity, encouraging ongoing community engagement.

Executing this plan required careful coordination across philanthropy, retail, merchandising, and marketing teams. The challenge was balancing speed with sustainability, launching a timely response while ensuring a structured approach to long-term support. By aligning logistics, communication, and community outreach, the initiative successfully combined immediate relief with opportunities for continued engagement.

What made this effort unique was its integration of multiple touchpoints for participation. Customers, employees, and neighbors came together through both tangible donations and symbolic acts of giving, showing how a fashion brand can turn its platforms into vehicles for meaningful community impact.

Results

The Texas Flood Relief initiative met and exceeded Kendra Scott’s objectives by combining immediate aid with sustained community engagement. Through in-store donation drives and the launch of the Everlyne Bracelet, Yellow Rose Trucker Hat, and Ari Heart Necklace, the brand galvanized both customers and employees in support of Central Texas families.

Between July 5 and August 7, the Everlyne Bracelet generated $518,000 in sales that went directly to relief efforts. Supplementary fundraising added $21,000 from Yellow Rose Hat sales and Ari Heart Necklace pre-sales, ensuring an ongoing revenue stream for flood recovery.

All proceeds supported trusted local partners—Texas Search & Rescue, Mercy Chefs, and the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund via the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country—delivering emergency supplies and long-term rebuilding resources. As part of the Mercy Chefs partnership, Kendra Scott teams volunteered in Ingram, TX, helping serve families in need and supporting an organization that had already provided more than 40,000 meals in the Kerrville area. Beyond financial contributions, Kendra Scott stores across Texas became community hubs, collecting clothing, diapers, toiletries, and cleaning products. This mobilization fostered a powerful sense of solidarity between employees, customers, and impacted families.

The initiative’s success is measured not only in dollars raised but in tangible relief provided and the deepened sense of community. By aligning philanthropy with its brand ethos, Kendra Scott created a scalable model for corporate-led disaster relief—one that delivered immediate impact, built long-term awareness, and showcased the collective strength of a community united in compassion.
