The humble #hashtag emerged as a grassroots invention by Twitter users, for categorizing and sharing tweets. Now, viral hashtags are a major way to follow top news stories, celebrities, products and trends. This award honors the most creative and effective use of hashtags on Twitter for a specific brand, marketing campaign, product, or service.
