The Vine Star of the Year Award, presented by Univision, honors the best producers of Vine videos who are able to use Vine to its highest potential. The short form video app has changed the game for web content by provoking a new type of artist. These video mavericks rise to the challenge; they not only make high quality content that viewers watch on repeat, but artfully craft vines that entertains or informs a worldwide audience all within six seconds. Eligible Viners include people that use Vine to collaborate with others, including brands, to produce great 6 second videos in the name of entertaining or informing.

Anyone can make an amazing several minute video, but it takes a great Viner to be a video-genius by making the same quality video in only six seconds!

This category will have 7 finalists. These include 3 with the most nominations from the public, 3 chosen by the Shorty Awards Nominating Board made up of professional journalists from around the world, and 1 Wildcard Finalist. See our rules page for more info.
