Celebrate the release of the HBO Original Documentary Transhood with an activation that highlights and serves the Transgender community, specifically Trans youth and parents raising Trans children in a COVID-safe manner while encouraging discussion and engagement with important issues effecting the community in the Unites States today.
With the goal of serving the Transgender community in mind, HBO and Allied Global marketing developed the TRANSlation summit in partnership with PFLAG National, HRC and Family Equality. The 3-day summit premiered nightly on HBO’s YouTube channel from November 17-19 via YouTube Premiere.
Performing artist & advocate Laith Ashley was engaged to host th 3-day summit which also featured influencers who are either members of the Transgender community or allies were as keynote speakers.
The three days of the TRANSlation summit each focused on a different topic impacting the Transgender community including Transitions (day 1), Growing Up Trans (day 2) and Advocacy (day 3). Following the keynote speech, each day consisted of three panel discussions with talent from the documentary, experts from our organization partners and other members of the Trangender community and allies. Moderators from PFLAG National and HRC were also on hand to moderate the comments and provide additional resources for viewers interested in learning more or seeking guidance.
The TRANSlation summit continues to be housed as a playlist on HBO’s YouTube channel to act as a resource for members of the Transgender community and allies looking to learn more about the Trangender experience.
