The Thailand Cyber Wellness Index (TCWI) was conceived as a groundbreaking digital wellness framework uniquely designed to elevate national cybersecurity awareness and resilience among Thai citizens.
Spearheaded by AIS in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and cybersecurity experts, TCWI harnesses comprehensive, data-driven insights to measure knowledge, skills, and behaviors related to safe and responsible digital technology use. Our primary goal was to create a reliable, actionable index that not only quantifies digital wellness across five critical dimensions — including cybersecurity, digital literacy, rights, health, and participation — but also empowers individuals and institutions to address vulnerabilities effectively.
Through innovative data collection from massive nationwide samples and advanced analytical techniques continually for 3 years in a row, TCWI transforms complex raw data into clear, impactful insights. Beyond measurement, TCWI serves as a catalyst for targeted social impact initiatives, guiding strategic decisions such as the development of the “AIS Aunjai CYBER” program. By identifying high-risk groups like students and the elderly, the project enables tailored interventions that foster cyber immunity at the community level.
Ultimately, TCWI exemplifies how thoughtful data stewardship and insight-driven storytelling can inspire meaningful behavioral change and policy development. By continuously monitoring and communicating digital wellness trends, TCWI strengthens Thailand’s collective cyber resilience and promotes a safer, more empowered digital society for all citizens.
Strategy & Execution
AIS brought the Thailand Cyber Wellness Index (TCWI) to life with a bold, data-first mission: to transform how an entire nation understands and protects its digital wellbeing. We envisioned a framework that not only measures the state of cybersecurity awareness but actively compass and drives safer, smarter, and more responsible online behavior — turning insights into nationwide impact.
From Vision to Action
We began by defining five core dimensions of digital wellness — from cybersecurity and literacy to rights, participation, and health — ensuring the framework spoke to the realities of Thai society. AIS united with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and top cybersecurity experts to design rigorous survey tools, capturing data from diverse urban and rural communities nationwide.
This rich dataset underwent advanced social data analysis, emerging as TCWI — a trusted national benchmark for digital resilience. Alongside, we launched the Digital Health Check: a first-of-its-kind, interactive tool that empowers citizens to measure and strengthen their personal “cyber immunity” in real time.
Executing at Scale
Overcoming Challenges
One of our toughest challenges was making highly technical data meaningful to everyday citizens. We overcame this with human-centered data storytelling, translating findings into plain language, practical tips, and engaging visuals. Another challenge: ensuring behavioral change went beyond awareness. Our answer was measurement paired with engagement — gamified tools, ongoing campaigns, and community-led interventions that kept safer online habits top of mind.
What Makes TCWI Unique
The Outcome
TCWI has evolved beyond a measurement tool into a catalyst for cultural change, uniting diverse stakeholders under a shared vision for digital safety. By transforming abstract data into clear actions, AIS has built a stronger, more cyber-resilient Thailand — proving that when technology, insight, and collaboration intersect, society moves forward.
The Thailand Cyber Wellness Index (TCWI) has successfully achieved AIS’s core objective of raising nationwide awareness and strengthening cybersecurity resilience among Thai citizens in a tangible and sustainable way.
Leveraging deep insights derived from TCWI data, AIS designed the targeted “AIS Aunjai CYBER” program focused on high-risk groups such as students and the elderly, enabling precise and effective interventions. This approach has significantly elevated knowledge, skills, and safe digital behaviors across society.
By deploying the Digital Health Check tool, which empowers individuals to assess and improve their own cyber wellness, TCWI has driven continuous improvement in digital safety scores—clearly reflecting positive behavioral changes at the population level.
In terms of sustainability, TCWI deeply aligns with AIS’s strategic commitment to harness technology for social impact and well-being. Through robust collaboration with government agencies, private sector partners, and communities, the initiative builds human capital and national cyber resilience in a long-lasting manner.
AIS regards this project as a major success—not only enhancing digital safety for millions but also reinforcing AIS’s role as a responsible digital leader, championing positive, sustainable transformation in Thailand’s digital era.
