Marc d'Avignon started his advertising career answering phones for the legendary Hal Riney in San Francisco. Like many of the best creative thinkers, Marc started as an account executive. He soon realized his personality and talent would best be utilized in the creative department as a copywriter. Marc put a portfolio together at the Brandcenter in Richmond. After graduating, he landed a job at Wieden + Kennedy. He was suitably intimidated. Always up for a challenge, he worked on EA Sports and Coca-Cola, winning the commercial Emmy in 2009 for his Super Bowl spot "Heist." His next stop was Crispin Porter, Bogusky in Boulder, where he worked on Activision and sold baby carrots like junk food for Bolthouse farms. At Media Arts Lab in Los Angeles, he worked on Apple, winning a Titanium Lion with the team who created the ubiquitous "Shot on iPhone." Walking across the street, he led Pepsi as a Creative Director for Chiat\Day. He's been an ECD at finger-on-the pulse shop, Translation, and a freelancer in various capacities at brands like Apple and Google and agencies like 72andSunny, Ogilvy, BBH, DDB, Adam & Eve BBDO, and DDB. Currently an ECD at Saatchi & Saatchi, he continues the award-winning work on Toyota's Olympic & Paralympic efforts he began as a GCD. He's now in New York leading the new business team at Saatchi and spends his free time just twirling in Central Park with arms outstretched as a crane cam slowly lifts up to reveal the city skyline. Marc has worked on lauded campaigns for the NFL, IBM, Sony, McDonald's, State Farm, Budweiser, Sprite, Dell, and many more. He's won awards shaped like Lions, Clios, Pencils, Effies, Webbies, and other things he has yet to keep much track of. He thinks it all turned out ok, and other people seem to think so too.
