London-based, self-professed creator of “sketchy, arty stuff," Emily Mulhall, aka Molehill, creates animations by combining video and overlaid pencil drawings, using what she calls amateur techniques, though the results are nothing amateurish. Her Vine account reads like a moving sketchbook, energetic and nature-inspired. These animation got her a video collaboration with Canon this year, for the release of their new printer. For them, she made a zoetrope, while they toured her flat to give a peek at the inner workings of her little studio. Emily seems right at home in her medium, happy that animation allows her to create things she’d never be able to make in real life.
