About Bros Being Basic

Seeing a #OOTD (outfit of the day) post in her Instagram feed, blogger Ashley Hesseltine of Witty + Pretty wondered what it would be like if “guys acted like girls on Instagram." With the help of her best friend and co-founder Travis May, Bros Being Basic was born. Soliciting help from their endless supply of attractive bro-friends, they decorated Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram with photos of guys recreating cliche “girly" things, like spa treatments with #besties, #cupcake close-ups, and #brosé winery tours, with emojis and hashtags everywhere. Now with 389K+ Instagram followers, @BrosBeingBasic is expanding into the apparel industry, with shirts like their “Dad Bod" design, which Ashley and Travis sell from their online store, Bros Being Basic: The Apparel.
