The objective was to raise funds and awareness for a clinical trial for Hunter Syndrome. Doctors and researchers currently believe they have a cure for Hunter Syndrome but lack funding to execute a clinical trial because the disease affects too small of a population. Hunter Syndrome occurs exclusively in boys, and the disease is progressively debilitating and life-limiting. Most boys do not live past the age of ten.
Caravan has completed a brand overhaul for Project Alive by creating a new identity, web presence, social media presence as well as a documentary series to tell the stories of the young boys and families affected by the disease. We believe that if people truly heard these boys' stories and how close doctors are to a tangible cure, they would be compelled to step in and act.
Over the past four months Project Alive has raised over half a million dollars towards the 2.5 million dollar goal. Some of the highlights have included large donations from athletes, a Vimeo Staff Pick, a Short of the Week Feature, and countless other articles encouraging the community to get involved.
Project Alive is a parent-run non-profit with no full-time paid employees. To raise this amount of money over such a short period of time is nothing short of miraculous.
