Taking advantage of our club's unique situation of having just announced two new players, our club's ultimate objective was to inject ourselves into the conversation of the PokemonGo phenomenon in a timely and relevant manner.
Recreating the PokemonGo gaming experience, we added David Edgar and Marcel de Jong to our roster the same way a user would capture and add Pokemon to their Pokedex. This work was unique as the final product had an international reach, was made completely with in-house resources, the quality of the animation was a perfect replication of the in-game experience and it was executed in a timely manner to take advantage of the media trend.
This video gained international media attention included in 72 unique publications in 25 countries. Some top publications included: MSN UK, Bleacher Report, London Evening Standard, Goal.com, Fox Sports, Fox News, Yahoo Sport and others. On top of this, it was by far the most engaged social piece of the year on our channels with +13,076 followers, 726,109 impressions, and 81,171 social engagements.
