Spencer Hibert’s psychedelic paintings, designs, and sculptures feature bold colors, naked bodies, melting skulls, “psychoeyes," sinister aliens, and pseudo-religious iconography. Born in Seattle, Washington, Spencer gravitated toward the West coast psych-hippie art scene, which then brought him to Phoenix, Arizona, where the desert and barren lands inform his work. He’s often designing album covers for bands releasing vinyl records, and his work has found popularity on Threadless, where shirts featuring his imagery are sold. A little creepy, a little grotesque, Spencer is an avid documenter, regularly uploading peeks of his new paintings and mixed-media sculptures to his Instagram account with 17K followers.
