Lisa Guernsey is at the forefront of researching and reporting the impact of perhaps the most tectonic shift in early learning in centuries: the prevalence of screens. Formerly a tech and education writer for The New York Times, Newsweek, and Time, Guernsey published a book in 2015 called Tap, Click, Read: Growing Readers in a World of Screens, geared at illuminating educators and parents alike on promoting literacy using electronic tools. As the director of learning technologies project at New America, she pushes for useful technology and social media in classrooms, with a “media mentor for every child."
