Joanne Harris has written 15 novels, two collections of short stories, and three cookbooks. She is most well known for her book Chocolat, which was made into a feature film starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche. She writes about food, magic, and the horror of everyday things and considers herself a “test-driver of experimental dream machines." She works from a shed in her garden when she’s not writing her new Doctor Who novella or playing bass in her band. In 2015, Joanne riled up her fans when she suggested they’d forgotten she was human in her “Writer’s Manifesto," sparking backlash, though diehard @Joannechocolat fans have stood by her side.
