Based on the webcomic of the same name, Cyanide and Happiness is the animated counterpart, still tackling pop culture, racism, and current events in politics with stick figures. The storylines are zany, stream-of-consciousness tales from creators Rob DenBleyker, Kris Wilson, and Dave McElfatrick, but the group isn’t afraid to air “unfunny" pieces with Depressing Comics Week, bewildering fans but also gaining great attention for their art. Viewers are so devoted to the morose series—created in 2004—that they once successfully banded together to sign an online petition for Dave to get his US visa to make more comics.
