A trained artist, Emily Graslie realized she was a biologist in disguise at the end of her college career and, with the help of the VlogBrothers and Crash Course, helmed her own YouTube channel The Brain Scoop, which remains one of the most popular STEM channels hosted by a woman. In 2014, Emily spoke out about sexism in her field and the internet comments she and other female creators receive, bringing light into another dark corner of the internet. As the Chief Curiosity Officer at the Field Museum in Chicago, Emily has access to some of the world’s greatest thinkers and ideas from the realm of natural history.
