We wanted to play a game on Vine to see how far the game would go. We started by enlisting 16 individuals from All Natural Vines—a "purist" collective of CGI-free artists and designers—to create Vines that built off the one we started.
We kicked off the series using a red ball as a unified object—in this case, the red concrete balls outside Target stores—and then tagged the next person up. Each Viner had to incorporate the ball into their story, using whatever means or mediums necessary to advance the story.
The Vine community took notice. After the initial 16 Viners we enlisted posted their spots, the game kept going and going. For more than four months, Viners from all over wanted in on the fun, and kept the red ball rolling.
