Accord Throwbacks

Objectives

In August 2015, Honda launched the restyled 2016 Accord. As one of Honda's most beloved models, the Accord has become an expression of Honda as a brand. We needed to create a campaign that not only promoted what made the 2016 Accord special but also spoke to Honda's heritage and appealed to drivers of every-generation Accord.

Strategy and Execution

Our solution was "Accord Throwbacks", an interactive Instagram experience that allowed users to see the evolution of the Accord before their eyes. We sourced and shot each generation of the Accord and created profiles for 9 different features of the Sedan. From there, we posted eye-catching split visuals of the first-generation Accord meshed with the most recent. By tagging the 9 parts we chose to highlight, we enabled users to click out to different profiles for a visual history of updates each feature received.

Results

Our most popular post received over 10,000 likes, which is twice as many as we normally receive. But the best part of the campaign was the fact that we got to bring Accord fans of all generations together to sing their praises in one place. Honda's Instagram followers couldn't stop raving over it.
