I'm a 14 year old tiger used as a roadside attraction at a truck stop in Louisiana. Despite court rulings prohibiting the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries from issuing any further permits, I'm STILL HERE because of appeals by my owner, Michael Sandlin. When he exhausted all of his appeals, he enlisted his state Senator, Rick Ward, to propose a bill, SB 250, to exempt himself from the 2006 Louisiana state law banning private ownership of big cats. SB 250 was passed by the Louisiana Legislature and then was signed into law as Act 697 by Gov. Bobby Jindal. Animal Legal Defense Fund is challenging this bill by filing a lawsuit against the LDWF, state of Louisiana, Tiger Truck Stop and Mr. Sandlin: http://aldf.org/press-room/press-releases/animal-legal-defense-fund-files-lawsuit-against-louisiana-for-violating-state-constitution-with-new-tony-the-truck-stop-tiger-law/ More info on my case from my legal reps ALDF : http://aldf.org/cases-campaigns/timelines/tony-the-tiger/
