Objectives

BBC America uses YouTube to deliver content to its audience in the place they love to watch video. Our YouTube community love BBC America programming, talent and British culture. We deliver them trailers and teasers in-line with our wider marketing campaign and social strategy, and inside looks that go behind the scenes and explore the making of BBC programming.

We give fans access to talent, allowing them to ask questions and hear their favorite stars respond directly to them. We collaborate with members of the YouTube community in our YouTube and on-air programming, in companion pieces like Almost Royal Goes to YouTube.

We also embrace the wider BBC America YouTube community in curated fan playlists, by including fans we find on YouTube in our live events and on-air campaigns.

Strategy and Execution

BBC America has continued to build its YouTube channel strategy with companion video series that compliment our on-air programming.

The channel speaks to YouTube audiences in the language of the platform and utilizes best practices across all content. We're part of an active community that not only interacts on BBC America's channel, but encourages fans to create their own original content and start conversations on YouTube and other social media platforms.
