To celebrate Terra Blues, the official onboard snack of Jet Blue, Terra Chips partnered with the airline for the second annual Blue Sky Flyaway, developed by ICED Media, giving passengers an opportunity to snap and share their in-flight snacking pleasures using the hashtag #BlueSkyPic for a chance to win free Jet Blue flights daily. To kick off the campaign we partnered with cultural notables such as Top Chef All-Star victor Richard Blais, photographer Alice Gao, husband and wife design team Inked Fingers, and lifestyle bloggers The New Potato and amplified our content with targeted Promoted Posts on Facebook, positioning #BlueSkyPic at the intersection of travel and snacking. With nearly 3,000% average fan growth, the Blue Sky Flyaway garnered more than 1,500 fan-generated entries, 7,000 new Facebook likes, and an overall reach of more than 21 million impressions across Facebook and beyond. In recognizing a captive audience and giving users a shareable challenge—Terra Chips and Jet Blue Airlines used the Blue Sky Flyaway to celebrate the spirit of their partnership through the lens of relevant social trends.
