The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence is the only national law center focused on providing comprehensive legal expertise in support of gun violence prevention and the promotion of smart gun laws that save lives. Over the last two decades, the non-profit organization, which was founded by attorneys and formerly known as the Legal Community Against Violence, has grown to become the leading resource on firearms law and policy in the U.S. The organization provides trusted, in-depth legal expertise and information on gun laws and offers critical support for the enactment of effective and defensible legislation at the state and local levels. The organization makes complex legal and policy issues understandable, conducts legal research, analyzes existing and emerging policy strategies and generates model regulations. Their goal is to influence firearm policy and legislation to keep citizens safe from gun violence.
