As the self-appointed resident fitness nag of The Dallas Morning News, Leslie Barker feels lucky to be able to combine two of her passions: working out and writing. She covers health and fitness, which helps fulfill her mission of encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle (with a few not-always-healthy sidetracks, of course). She marvels at the workings of the human body, and feels especially grateful for the energy, ability and time to work out -- whether running, swimming or struggling (though not as much as she used to, hooray!) through yoga classes. She's also a firm believer in everyone's potential to find the exercise that is right for them, not just the one everyone else seems to be doing. Leslie is also an inspirational writer. You can find two short ebook collections of her essays on Amazon.com: “Thanksgiving: A Collection of Essays, Prayers and Toasts" and “Hope & Renewal: Essays and Meditations for Easter."
