Catch with Drew Brees let football fans live out a football fantasy with an interactive experience across multiple screens. For the first time, anyone with a smart phone and a computer could play catch with Drew Brees. After a connection between devices was made, fans could catch and throw passes from their phones to Drew Brees on their computers. By tapping into the phone’s accelerometer and gyroscope data, our experience interpreted physical movements in real-time, and called up the appropriate replies from Brees. Once fans got a taste of the experience, we made it easy for them to enter Visa’s #MyFootballFantasy contest for a chance to win their fantasy. They could literally type onto the ball to submit an entry. Afterwards, fans could keep playing catch with Brees. Of course, we had one more surprise in store for them: Brees accidentally breaks the computer screen in a memorable finale.
