Connecting Louisiana Students

Objectives

Remote learning has become a lifeline to education for kids in 2020. However, not all students are fortunate enough to have access to broadband internet. Rural and underserved youth need legislators to cut the red tape so they can get affordable, reliable internet and stay on pace with their education.

Strategy and Execution

The Pelican Institute recognizes this critical issue. They enlisted the help of Iron Light to create a video that explained the issue and how to fix it so that Louisianans could fight for this much-needed change. Getting public support on an issue is a critical first step to achieving policy change.

Results

In its first few weeks in market, this video reached 53,000+ Louisianans. This video earned a cost of $0.01 per 10-sec video view. The retention rates on the video are incredible as well, with the average viewer watching 30 seconds of the video (3x higher than Facebook's average).
