Angelique Picanco, Social Media Manager for Nadia G's Bitchin' Kitchen

Entered in Social Media Manager

Objectives

Angelique Picanco is Bitchin’ Kitchen’s managing editor, community manager, and social media ninja. Having been with Bitchin’ Kitchen prior to its move from online to prime time, she helped create a core fan base that would later continue to support Bitchin’ Kitchen on two networks, Cooking Channel and Food Network Canada. Angelique oversaw the transition from web to TV and has been an essential component in online content generation that supports community growth without alienating long time web fans. Bitchin’ Kitchen’s Facebook page is like no other, a place where conversation and community is a priority. Faced with the task of keeping participation high while the show was on a yearlong hiatus, she managed to double Facebook and Twitter engagement levels; no small feat for a website based on a TV show. Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen generated more than 4,900,000 post views and 18,000 likes/comments on Facebook per month. Angelique helped successfully develop and implement social media strategies responsible for Bitchin’ Kitchen’s online brand & community growth. She’s witnessed the community grow from zero to over 80,000 avid friends and fans, connected with over 20,000 Bitchin’ Kitchen followers on Twitter, and continues to chat with them on a real-time basis, daily. Maintaining her position as senior managing web editor and managing a team of individuals, she also develops features, writes articles, helps create the most rockin’ community-based contests, and designs & implements sponsorship campaigns for BitchinLifestyle.TV. Nadia G’s Bitchin’ Kitchen launched three huge community engagement campaigns this year: The Community Chapter Contest whereby our community submitted their own recipes to be included in Nadia G’s new cookbook: Cookin’ for Trouble; a fan photo collage that encouraged fans to submit their photos for inclusion in our Community Chapter Collage; and most recently, The Cookin’ for Trouble Contest, our biggest contest yet. All three campaigns were successfully launched and promoted online. A true multitasker at heart, Angelique continues to manage our online media efforts, while effectively promoting the Bitchin’ Kitchen brand across North America.
