MS Awareness week, March 11 -17, 2018, is the kick-off of the National MS Society's year-round effort to drive awareness of multiple sclerosis and the experience of living with it. Our new campaign, launching this year, "Whatever it Takes" amplifies the voices of people with MS, who share in their own words, their experiences of living with and refusing to be defined by MS.
In 2017, the Society asked over 3000 people affected by MS to tell us: aside from not having MS at all, what is the one thing that would help you most in overcoming the challenges of MS? Notably, people with MS shared that greater awareness of MS, and a better understanding of the experience of living with it among their community, family, and peers, significantly contributes to a better quality of life.
By sharing the stories of people with MS, we help people better understand life with MS and become inspired to do whatever it takes to change the world for everyone affected by MS. As Clarissa says "Multiple Sclerosis may be a part of who you are, but it doesn't define you." The fact is that every day, people do whatever it takes to move their lives forward despite MS. We encourage people to explore stories and share to show the world #ThisIsMS at ntl.ms/ThisIsMS
Since this campaign will last 2-3 years, results are ongoing, but responses from our constituents show that this campaign resonated with our audience:
