GoPro for a Cause uses the viral power of GoPro videos to help nonprofit organizations promote their movements—and inspire the world. We partner with one nonprofit each month, sending a team of GoPro video professionals to create a one-of-a-kind promotional video shot using our cameras. We feature each video on our website and social channels to help the nonprofits raise funds.
This year, GoPro for a Cause has produced 16 unique videos for featured organizations, earning a total of 2.2 million video views. Our social media posts have reached 66 million people, and we've used innovative tactics, such as 2-for-1 matching fundraising campaigns, to help featured causes raise funds.
Top performers include City Surf Project, which uses surfing to help kids from low-income San Francisco communities expand their worldviews and learn valuable life skills, and Cloudbase Foundation Nepal, a group of free flight pilots rebuilding Nepal after the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 2015 killed 8,000 people and injured 21,000 more.
