The central idea behind the collaboration was to create a collection of exclusive beauty products representing the formidable women of Arcane. This theme brought together Fenty Beauty, celebrating all women and their differences with the women of Arcane. By merging the worlds of gaming and beauty, we aimed to provide women with a platform to celebrate their passion for gaming while expressing themselves through beauty. The goal was to foster a movement that championed women’s strength, creativity and passion in both the gaming and beauty industry.
Fenty Beauty’s collaboration with Arcane went beyond skin deep. Priscilla Ono, Fenty Beauty Global Makeup Artist, worked alongside animators of Arcane season 2 series to create and bring to life the makeup in-show, merging artistry with storytelling in a whole new way in both the physical and digital worlds. The makeup featured in Season 2 of Arcane highlights the strength, resilience, and individualism of the leading women, and the limited-edition collection of products released enabled people everywhere to create their own versions. With this Fenty Beauty and Arcane partnership, people everywhere were able to truly be empowered to play with beauty in a whole new way.
By successful merging the gaming and beauty worlds, Fenty Beauty created a product that resonated deeply with both Arcanes and Fenty beauty’s target audience: women who are passionate about both gaming and self-expression through beauty. We empowered women, created a bridge between two different industries and sparked meaningful conversation. The campaign rollout had a library of assets garnering views ranging from 365k for our behind-the-scenes content up to 16 million for Rihanna introducing the product. The positive feedback, strong sales with a quick sell out and growing online community hungry for more are evidence that the product resonated with our audience and fulfilled our core objectives.
