The Rowan University Instagram was created in 2012. Throughout the last 12 years the platform and our goals have changed immensely. Rowan University's Instagram plays a large role in the University's branding, recruitment and retention efforts. The account showcases campus life/resources, educational content, student POVs and more.
Some notable highlights include:
- Our Instagram Story student takeovers are well known by our current students and prospective students. We meet with our students and storyboard their day to make sure each takeover is unique and engaging.
- One of our most recent video series is called Ed & Em Eats. Two students visit on and off-campus food locations and share their review. It's been extremely successful with our community.
- You'll also notice that we're currently celebrating our Centennial year. We have nods to our 100 years throughout our profile. We've brought back TBT's, this day in Rowan history and even celebrated with a birthday cake on our 100th birthday. The hashtag logo we designed reflects the 💯 emoji. Our hope is to make our Centennial relatable and fun.
The Rowan University Social Media Team hosts weekly strategy team meetings to discuss weekly, monthly and yearly content plans. The Rowan University Instagram plays a large role in the University's branding and identity online. We utalize each feature on Instagram to it's fullest potentional. The moment you view the Rowan University Instagram you know that the University's colors are brown & gold. Eveything from our highlight covers to the profile grid you will notice pops of yellow to showcase the University's visual identity. WIth each new campaign we also design new GIFs to be used as stickers on Instagram Stories. You can find our GIPHY account here. The content consists of different aspects of university life, student life, student POVs, UGC, campus events, campus dining, campus tours, educational content, academics and more. The University's Instagram also plays a huge role in fostering our community. We host Q&A's, Instagram Story takeovers and giveaways on a regular basis. Lastly, the University's Instagram plays a large role in recruitment. The platform is utalized to attract prospective students by showcasing campus, student life, student POVs and the overall student experience. Highlighting admission requirements and events, application deadlines, and scholarship opportunities to encourage prospective students to apply.
