To showcase the amazing benefits nuclear energy has in creating a cleaner and more sustainable future for our world. We want to inform our audience and garner support for nuclear energy, while also debunking some of the most common misconceptions that surround it.
Conversations in support of nuclear power have grown louder among decision makers, government leaders, and energy enthusiasts. Our podcast aims to bring those conversations to communities and people who are searching for solutions to pressing issues like climate change and sustainability.
We want to showcase all the benefits nuclear has to listeners who may not be familiar with the ins and outs of nuclear energy, but we realized bringing on nuclear energy professionals might make the content too technical for the average person. So instead we decided to mix it up by inviting a diverse group of people who aren't nuclear engineers, but can still speak on the benefits of nuclear technology in their respective field. Because of this strategy, we were able to talk on a variety of subjects while providing real world examples that would resonate with the average person.
A few examples: Miss America! She discussed the benefits of nuclear energy while also sharing insights into what it's like to be Miss America and recounting how nuclear medicine saved her father's life.
Rickey Ruff, a fashion mogul, delved into the fashion industry and weaved in the topic of nuclear energy by explaining how mini reactors are able to decarbonize the industry allowing factories to run off clean energy.
The Fissionary team has been thrilled to receive amazing feedback from listeners and praise from attendees at COP28 this year!
We’re seeing more support for nuclear energy than ever before driven by growing concerns about climate change. Even green energy activists who previously opposed nuclear energy are now advocating for its use. This highlights how crucial it is to educate against the stigma surrounding nuclear energy, and making that information both engaging and accessible.
We also learned that at COP28, over 22 countries pledged to triple their nuclear energy efforts to achieve our decarbonization goal for 2050. While the podcast may not be directly attributed to this, it's seen as a valuable tool in advancing this effort.
