Ever wondered what goes into drawing your favorite animated characters? We sat down with animation nominees from the 95th Academy Awards for a demonstration of how they concept and draw their creations, by drawing the moment in which their characters receive an Oscar.
By employing production techniques that highlighted the artists' drawing abilities, and allowing each to work within their desired medium that exemplified unique skill-sets, we were able to create a visually compelling video piece that gave viewers an inside look into the animation craft.
At the same time, giving the specific prompt of their characters recieving the Oscar allowed for the segment to exist as a more standalone project versus a classic drawing demonstration. This method enabled them to emote and exemplify the heart behind their characters and abilities to bring them to life.
Additionally, production was designed to cater to both traditional 16x9 video as well as a vertical format, with the translation of the two leading to publication across four different social channels with ease. Studio and talent feedback on the final product was extremely positive, and resulted in the piece being shared by said parties on various platforms.
