Teen Wolf Instagram

Finalist in Instagram Presence

Objectives

Teen Wolf's Instagram is the hub for all nostalgic, emotional, hilarious and fun series and movie related content. We set out to bring the characters and cast that fans love straight to their screens through behind-the-scenes photos, videos, original video content, AR effects, Stories and more. Instagram Stories became our primary placement for live-event coverage of San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, CCXP and the world premiere event for the film. We utilize Stories to share talent posts to our page, exciting the fandom for the content being posted there. Reels became a huge player for us content-wise, and nearly all of our videos published between 2021 and January 2023 have hit upwards of 700K - 1M views.

Strategy and Execution

If you're looking for Teen Wolf: The Movie content, look no further than our Instagram account. We've held a consistent publishing cadence since late 2021 with photo and video content that fans cannot get anywhere else. We captured an extensive amount of content on set during the movie's filming run and use those photos and videos in in-feed posts, Reels and Stories. We've used short breakout moments from our Behind Beacon Hills digital documentary series to drive engagement and excitement amongst fans and talent -- the talent often shares our posts to their own Instagram Stories. We also launched two AR effects in early 2023 -- a scavenger hunt through the halls of Beacon Hills High School and a howl-meter that ranks fans as an Alpha, Beta or Omega. When we released the official key art and cast images for the film, we did a few photos per day spanning throughout a week alongside short video content taking fans behind-the-scenes of the photoshoot. These posts saw upwards of 3.9M engagements and made that week the best week for Teen Wolf social in history. We use Instagram as a way to release content, make announcements and connect with our extremely passionate fanbase and cast.

Results

Although the account has existed for years, 2022 was its biggest year yet when we reached 5M followers. When Teen Wolf: The Movie was announced in late September 2021, the account only had 3.8M followers. Our growth has been phenomenal. When it comes to AR effects, we've seen massive success in ways other MTVE accounts have not with this type of execution. Our Beacon Hills High scavenger hunt effect has over 31K impressions, 185K opens and 32K captures. Our Test Your Alpha werewolf-ranking effect has over 31K impressions, 169K opens and 58K captures. When we released the film's teaser and trailer assets, both saw upwards of 12M views within 24 hours. When we released the official key art and cast images for the film, we did a few photos per day spanning throughout a week alongside short video content taking fans behind-the-scenes of the photoshoot. These posts saw upwards of 3.9M engagements and made that week the best week for Teen Wolf social in history. Our Instagram content consistently sees high engagement and views across the board, which has made the Teen Wolf Instagram account one of the most valuable accounts that MTVE owns and operates.
