With Searching for Maximum Flavor, I wanted viewers to be able to follow a chef (me) to foodie centric locations, enjoy compelling conversations, and then return to my restaurant kitchen to recreate a recipe inspired by the trip. It's proof that food is the thread that connects the whole world, it's the language everyone speaks.
I have always been in love with great storytelling and you can't talk about food without somehow sharing a story. It just goes hand in hand. Instead of waiting for an opportunity to come up, I decided to fully fund the project and be the executive producer of Searching for Maximum Flavor. I decided to embark on a 10 episode YouTube series backed up by a strong social campaign and media tour to promote the series. Some of the challenges that were met were very strict travel schedules. Every episode was filmed within 4 days because I had to return to my restaurants in Miami. We also faced closures, partial closures, etc due to COVID 19. I believe we are unique because we are a YouTube series with a female executive producer and host that excelled during COVID 19 travel restrictions.
I whole heartedly feel we were successful with Searching for Maximum Flavor because we inspired viewers to travel, to taste, to connect, to recreate, and push their own limits. We did all of this through food and storytelling. At the end it's all about the human connection... and we did that.
