How many people think about where the items they throw into a recycling bin go or what can and cannot be recycled? The answer: not many.
The recycled materials industry has become a hidden industry, so one of the biggest challenges we face is reminding people that we exist. But, unfortunately, we're marketing the invisible.
We strive to entertain, educate, and inspire our community in a fun and creative ways.
The Recycler pays homage to one of the greatest films of all time during its 50th anniversary while showcasing a facet of the recycled materials industry.
Our simple strategy was to create a commercial about recycled material that people inside and outside our industry could enjoy. The commercial took about one week to coordinate and 3 hours to film. There was no official script, as improv was encouraged.
The Recycler was posted on March 16, 2023, one week before our largest industry event, ISRI National, hosted by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. The video reached around 20K+ people and received 12K+ views across all our channels. However, the best result we received was the conversation it started and how it encouraged other companies within our industry to market themselves and educate their communities.
